Meet Mrs. Simone Castonguay (Gour) - 93 years old

A smile that says it all

Plants had always been part of Mrs. Castonguay’s life. Her house was filled with plants.

When she had to move to the Ernest-Brisson Residential and Long-Term Care Centre (CHSLD) in Gatineau, she missed her plants enormously.

Her life changed for the better when our living wall was built in the CHSLD on January 19, 2017. Plants were back in her life. Each time she became distressed, her daughter would bring her over to the wall and she immediately calmed down. Unfortunately, Mrs. Castonguay died a month after the wall was built. Her daughter, Francine Gour, told us, “This living wall, you created it for my mother.”

A special thank you to Mrs. Gour who gave us the permission to share the photo of her mother and her testimony on our social medias!
