Launch of the Orléans Health Hub Project

The most ambitious project of the Forget for a Moment Foundation will become reality in the first half of 2021 at the Orléans Health Hub

A more humane waiting room

Now that the ground-breaking ceremony has taken place, we can say with confidence that our living wall in the shape of a Monarch butterfly wing, will become a reality in the first half of 2021. This living wall of thirty square meters will be located in the waiting room of the services for seniors of the new Orléans Health Hub (Ontario).

The Orléans Health Hub will be a unique and innovative health centre, offering a wide range of specialized and community healthcare services under one roof. Once the Hub is completed, the residents of Ottawa East and parts of Eastern Ontario – from newborns to seniors – will benefit from integrated programs that are close to home, focused on their needs, and offered in both official languages.

We are convinced that this living wall will be a valuable addition to the Orléans Health Hub and that all those who see it will appreciate not only its beauty, but also the ability of nature to soothe.

Jeannine Lafrenière, Founder of Forget For A Moment Foundation, is the project Instigator. The mural is a creation of Malaka Ackaoui and Antoine Crépeau from WAA Montréal Inc. They are also the team members of the design and technical design. The blown glass bubbles will be made by Jean-Simon Trottier, an accomplished glassblower, who ranks among the best in Canada.

Below is a representative illustration of the living wall, however, modifications may occur in terms of colours and plants used.
